My So Called Afterlife
review 1: The concept of this book was great, but the execution fell flat. The dialogue was corny, the characters cliche and the writing juvenile. There were times I literally laughed out loud at moments that were supposed to be serious b/c it was just so ridiculous. It was a real struggle for me to finish this book and the ending was so disappointing. There is a sequel, but I won't be reading it b/c I could care less.
review 2: The book is ok. Nothing seems overly interesting. Its just a normal everyday life of an all American teen girl, Olga. The exception is her best friend, Connor, has died in a very tragic circumstance. Since they met as very young children they have been inseparable and Connor's death has sent Olga into a very deep depression. She blames hersel
... moref for not being able to save him, for being the one to suggest the outing that killed him, and to spend the rest of her life without him. As you read about the year following Connor's death and Olga's learning how to get passed all of it, you feel happy with her learning to live again. Then...the truth comes out. The 18 Things refers to a list her psychologist suggest she make in order to help her along. less
